MUZZLELOADER SEASON  NOVEMBER 28 - DECEMBER 7
Muzzloaders are the only firearm that may be used during this season. There is no special muzzleloader deer license.  Hunters will use a regular gun deer license and may use any unused gun buck tag, or any unused antlerless tags.  NOTE:  Archery and crossbow hunting are still allowed and proceed as normal during this season.
BONUS ANTLERLESS HARVEST AUTHORIZATIONS   How many are left?
Bonus Antlerless Harvest Authorizations are now on sale for all units that have permits remaining.  Customers may purchase one harvest authorization per day.  They are required to indicate the zone (Forest Zone 1 or Farmland Zone 2), deer management unit (county), and land type (public or private).

NOTE:  SOME DEER MANAGEMENT UNITS ARE "SPLIT" BY HABITAT TYPE

Ten Deer Management Units (Adams, Chippewa, Clark, Eau Claire, Jackson, Juneau, Marinette, Monroe, Oconto and Wood), are divided between Forest and Farmland Management Zones.  If the customer selects one of these counties, ask which area of the county they will be hunting in… Forest Zone or Farmland Zone.  They will need the correct zone listed on their harvest authorization.  SELECT HERE for a detailed map.

WHAT IS A MENTORED HUNTING LICENSE?

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1973, must complete a Hunter Safety Education course before they can purchase a hunting license, unless they request to hunt under the mentored hunting program.  If the Go Wild system does not have a hunter safety course on file, it will bring up a special screen requesting safety course information, or allow them to choose a mentored hunting license instead.  A mentored hunting license allows them to hunt, but with special restrictions.  SELECT HERE For more detailed information.

ALWAYS CONFIRM A CUSTOMER'S LICENSE PURCHASES

Hunting licenses often come with different choices for zones, units, land type, etc.  Always make sure to take the time to confirm with the customer that their license choices are correct before they leave.  Licenses cannot be voided or changed once the season has begun, so it is important that those items are correct at the time of sale.

CAN'T FIND A LICENSE IN THE PRODUCT LIST?

If a license does not show on the product list, there there is most likely a reason.  Here are a few places you can look to find out:

  • Check their Active Products and Points.  They may have already purchased that license.
  • Check the Cart button.  The customer may have begun a transaction online, and it may be waiting in the shopping cart to be purchased.
  • There may be a cheaper option such as a New Buyer, senior, or combo license. Example:  Spousal fishing is not offered to seniors.  It's cheaper to purchase separate.
